This is "Norgespris"
Norgespris is a new subsidy program from the government designed to give you a predictable electricity price throughout the year. With Norgespris, the electricity price will be at a fixed rate of NOK 0.50 per kWh (including VAT). Norgespris will be an alternative to the current subsidy for high prices (strømstøtte).
Norgespris is a voluntary scheme that must be ordered by customers who want it.
If you do not order Norgespris, you will automatically continue to receive the current electricity subsidy
How Norgespris works
- Fixed electricity price every hour throughout the year
- Orders are placed via Elhub
- You keep your existing electricity supply agreement with your electricity supplier
- The agreement is linked to the metering point and includes a binding period
- Applies to monthly consumption of up to 5,000 kWh for private households and 1,000 kWh for holiday homes
- Grid tariffs and government taxes are charged in addition
Binding period
The Norgespris rate of 50 øre/kWh incl. VAT applies for the period 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2026.
You can order Norgespris at any time during this period. The agreement will take effect from the date you place the order.
You have a 14-day cancellation period from the date of ordering.
The Norgespris agreement is linked to the metering point. If a new owner takes over the metering point due to a property transfer or similar, the agreement and binding period will be transferred to the new owner.
Billing
If you choose Norgespris, you keep your existing electricity supply agreement with your electricity supplier.
If your supplier offers combined billing, you will receive everything on one invoice: electricity, grid tariffs, and Norgespris support.
If you do not have combined billing, you will receive separate invoices:
- One invoice from the grid company (e.g. Lnett) including grid tariffs and Norgespris
- One invoice from your electricity supplier
With Norgespris, the State pays the difference when the spot price of electricity is higher than 50 øre incl. VAT. When the spot price is lower, you as the customer pay the difference.
Grid companies are responsible for invoicing Norgespris, in the same way as they invoice electricity support.
Here you can read more about what the invoice looks like with Norgespris.
